"I never thought I'd make it this far!"
Really, that's kinda sad. I mean, you're selling yourself short! You've already decided that you'll end up distracted by something else (maybe another comic concept, more likely a new video game or TV show) or procrastinating so much that your project simply fades away from atrophy. Congrats for overcoming those obstacles, though.
Me, I didn't think about it at all. I decided I'd work on this until it was finished (which it will be by the middle of February, in case you haven't heard), and if I hit 400, 500, 600 strips, great! That means I've made a pretty long story. I wouldn't necessarily say "deep" but it at least has umph.
But I didn't plan on ever stopping simply because I got bored or distracted. That wasn't in the cards. It's a story I wanted to tell, and by gosh, I'm gonna tell it, whether anyone listens or not. Besides, if anything, it's good practice. Compare the first couple of strips with these latest. Even I'll admit I've gotten better.
